Payment gateways for Shopify stores in Pakistan

The honest picture

Pakistan is not on Shopify’s list of countries supported by Shopify Payments, and the choice of international gateways is limited. In Shopify’s own community forum, merchants in Pakistan describe restrictions and verification hurdles with providers such as Stripe, PayPal and 2Checkout, and limits with services like Payoneer and Wise. We do not promise any provider will approve you, and neither should anyone else.

1. Start with what works today

Manual payment methods work everywhere. Shopify supports cash on delivery, bank transfer and custom manual methods; orders stay unpaid until you confirm the money arrived, and Shopify charges no third-party transaction fee on manual payments. Cash on delivery lets a store in Pakistan take orders from day one.

2. Check the current provider list in your admin

Shopify’s help page on third-party providers explains that you manage payment providers from the Payments page in your Shopify admin. The providers offered there are the reference for your store, and they change over time. That list is the reference, and it changes over time. Open it in your own admin before you decide, and apply to any provider in your own business name.

3. Third-party transaction fees

When a third-party provider is used instead of Shopify Payments, Shopify adds a third-party transaction fee to those orders. Manual payments are excluded. The percentage depends on your plan.

4. Paying Shopify’s own bill

Shopify bills stores in Pakistan in US dollars. Shopify’s list of payment methods for bills says your card must allow recurring international transactions, so confirm with your bank before your trial ends.

5. What we never do

We never open a payment account in someone else’s name, never use a borrowed foreign address or company to get a provider, and never ask for your payment-provider login. Providers check that the business, its address and its bank account belong together, and mismatches can get payouts held or accounts closed.
